Ali Awan / Lucy Spraggan Born
Ali Awan / Lucy Spraggan
Born in Abington ALI AWAN spent much of his formative years growing up in Turkey and Saudi Arabia. He ultimately returned to Philadelphia where he began playing shows/music as a guitar and bass player in West Philadelphia basements at 14 years old and like many others, eventually got turned onto songwriting by classic artists such as The Velvet Underground, David Bowie, and The Rolling Stones. After extensive touring as a member of Needle Points, Awan spent time in Brooklyn and LA and has been performing and recording his own material ever since. Awan’s intention is to give his audience an interesting and unforgettable place to go and feel for themselves.
LUCY SPRAGGAN is in a good place and wants to share it with you. She is happy in love, life and music: three things that are reflected in the anthemic, upbeat, and infectious sound of her new album. The past few years have been the best of times for the singer-songwriter and Today Was a Good Day sings that message loud. The UK has one of the highest youth suicide rates in the developed world and an ever growing incidence of mental health difficulties across our population: Spraggan’s personal experience of dark days compels her to pass on the message of hope that forms the backbone of this album.
